Punctured Museum Postcard

To Escape imagines an image’s desire to describe its relationship to reality, acting upon it, where it is often considered to be a passive record. Here, in a reproduction of Graciela Carnevale’s Acción del encierro (Confinement Action), one of the most radical works to encourage a breaking of glass as a means to produce both an actual and an allegorical freeing, the image appears to be breaking into the world.

This work was included in The Postcard As A Work of Art, a small exhibition and publication produced by X Marks The Bokship in collaboration with Jeremy Cooper. To Make A Space, 2012 (below) was also included in this exhibition,
